Sanford is home
many gorgeous state parks, including the Lower Wekiva River Preserve. The
preserve is a system of blackwater streams & trails. This wildlife region
gives a habitat for otters, black bears, wood storks, sandhill cranes and
alligators. You can paddle, camp and hike on the preserve to experience
Sanford’s wild flora & fauna to the fullest. A very fascinating feature of
the preserve is the equestrian campsite region that consist of horse stalls
& corrals for those who wish to bring their horse along on the trails.

Sanford Ghost
Tours are an excellent way to hear the massive history about the region in an
exciting way. This one hour walking trip is excellent for all ages, and takes
visitors through tales of ghostlike encounters around the downtown Sanford
region leading up the last stop at a ghostly building. Tours are just $15 and
are provided at 8 and 9 p.m. on Thursdays & Fridays

to visit more than one eateries in a short span of time is by taking a tour
with Sanford Food Tours. They work with dozens of shops and eateries in
downtown Sanford and let guests to select from 2 diverse tours or make their
own. The Brews & Bites Tour includes stops at Deviant Wolfe Brewing,
Sanford Brewing Co., Wops Hops Brewing Co., Inner Compass Brewing Co., and
Tuffy’s Bottle Shop. Food & drink pairings are accompanied by the
incredible sights and ironic history of Sanford’s city center. The Celery City
Tour stops at Hollerbach’s Willow Tree Cafe, The District, Busters Bistro, and
Sanford Brewing Company. Each walking tour is about 4 hours and includes
insight into local history & culture along the way.
